Advertising.my brought a group of partners to Cameron Highlands where everyone who joined the trip had a great and truly enjoyable time basking in the weather and participating in the activities that were planned.

Those who joined the trip to Cameron Highlands were entertained by several activities where the guests stayed at Crown Imperial Court Cameron Highlands apartments and Greenhill Resort Apartment in Cameron Highlands which were located around the major attractions and convenient locations. They were able to look around the highland while many of them joined the likes of the Malaysian Art and Antiques Hunting contest where the winners took home some very attractive prizes. The prizes include popular artworks from renowned Malaysian artists as well as antiques which were limited edition items. At the end of the trip, participants had a wonderful retreat in Cameron Highlands away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre where everyone took home a sweet memory or two. During the event in Cameron Highlands, Advertising.my took the opportunity to introduce a few new services to the customers and partners.

Annual Food Drive for St. Marys Food Bank in Full Swing; Trucking Consultants, Ahern and Associates Kicks Off 12th Year of Feeding the Needy

Garnering local and national attention for his efforts such as a recent write-up in the Arizona Republic showcasing his Christmas in July food drive, Ahern has tirelessly worked for 12 years organizing his food drive while calling upon his vast list of supporters within the transportation industry. Established in 1967, St. Marys Food Bank has been the recipient of Aherns food drives for twelve years, largely because of the remarkable job they do in supporting the hungry and elderly, as well as the high standards St. Marys adheres to as a non-profit.

According to St. Mary’s Food Bank:

For every $ 1.00 the food bank collects, .96 cents goes back to the community and translates into $ 7.00 worth of food which places St. Marys Food Bank in the top 1% of all charities in the country. Thanks to their hard working staff and drove of dedicated volunteers, 90% of the aide provided goes to feed families with small children and the elderly.

To date, an unfortunate 1 in 4 children are now going to bed hungry in neighborhoods across the country tonight. In addition, Ahern urges the public to consider the following, staggering statistics:

????1 in 7 households are food insecure this is the number highest number ever recorded in the US.
????1/3 of the food in insecure households had very low food security.
????To date, 46.9 million people are in poverty, up from 37.3 million in 2007
????The poverty rate is 15.1%, up from 12.5% in 1997
????1.5MM older Americans have already lost their homes to the Great Recession.
????Approximately 600,000 people who are 50yrs or older are currently in foreclosure.
????The poverty rate increase for children under 18yrs old has increased from 20.7% to 22%, and 20.5 million Americans now live in extreme poverty. This means that these families cash income is less than half of the poverty level or about $ 10K a year for a family of four.
????An astounding 49.9 million people or 16.3% of the American population do not have medical insurance.

All of these statistics mean that since the recent financial catastrophes that have taken place, there is an increase of 3,000,000 or more people who are now considered poor in this country. The percentage of children, in poverty is also 27.7% of that total population.

As a result of Aherns annual food drives and through the generosity of his supporters, he has collectively raised well over $ 1,500,000 in food for St. Marys Food Bank over the past twelve years. Unfortunately, hunger is an everyday issue for many Americans, with the situation only growing worse.

South Florida Home Prices Have Risen Almost 5% Since Last Year

Miami Beach Condo Journal named their “Condo Story of the Week” as there is good news for owners of Miami Beach condos this week, as The Miami Herald reported recent findings show that single-family home prices in South Florida are up 4.4% from June of 2011. New data from S&P/Case-Shiller, a report that tracks sales of single-family homes, shows that, in addition to this increase over the year, prices in Miami-Dade County and beyond rose almost 2 percent between this May and June.

This price increase indicates a rise in demand for Miami Beach-area condos; as more buyers bid for houses, the average price increases. The rise in demand for single-family homes in South Florida seems to be due to two main factors: rising market confidence and a historic low in mortgage rates. Buyers may be eligible for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage with only 3.625% interest. This rise in demand is great news for owners of St Regis Bal Harbour condos, as home values are rising sharply; one condo at Paramount Bay was worth $ 395,000 in 2011 and today is worth just over $ 500,000.

The Case-Shiller home price reports, maintained by Standard and Poors, are indices that track housing prices in the United States. Updated quarterly, the Case-Shiller reports track prices in three separate indices: national housing prices, composites from a 10-city aggregate, and composites from a 20-city aggregate. In Junes report, prices rose in all three of these major indices; most housing markets in the nation matched Miamis May-to-June growth. Tampa Bay, which is tracked in the 20-city index, also showed growth.

The Miami Beach Condo Journal is excited to share good economic news with condo owners in Miami Beach. Single-family home prices in South Florida, according to S&P/Case-Shillers quarterly report released last month, have risen nearly 5% since June of 2011, and almost 2% between May and June of this year. This points to an increase in demand for single-family housing in the area, likely due to increasing market confidence and low mortgage rates. In the case of one Miami condo, this increase in demand meant a $ 100,000 increase in value since last November.
