REMI Provides Suggestions for Home Buyers on Where to Find Property

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 11, 2013

The Real Estate Marketing Insider compiled a list of resources for prospective home buyers to help them find property, ranging from online resources to experts in their communities. REMIs list was prompted by a report in the Washington Post detailing buyers struggles to find homes that fit their needs and budget.

The Posts report examined the possibilities for home buyers in todays economy. On the other side of the housing crisis – from which the United States is still recovering – the demand for homes vastly exceeds the supply. For months there have been reports of inventory shortages across the country, with rising prices and tight-fisted lenders combining to make it difficult for buyers to find real estate leads on homes that might fit their need and budget. In response, buyers have turned to new and innovative ways of unearthing sellers who may have opted not to sell through an MLS or a major realtor. These methods include discussion forums, public record perusal, and even door-to-door searches for homeowners interested in selling.

REMI knows that no matter what the housing market looks like on paper, there are always homes for the taking. The reasons for sellers keeping their home off the grid vary. The challenge for buyers, however, is to find them. The Insider has put together some tips for buyers to find leads on homes without going the traditional MLS route.

1.????Online discussion forums. Scour the internet for a message board or discussion forum that attracts sellers interested in a face-to-face, realtor-free sale. Boards like this exist for almost every market and can be found using a targeted Google search.

2.????Partnering with a realtor on solicitation campaigns. The realtor can send letters to property owners announcing a ready buyer for anyone interested in selling.

3.????Major listing websites. These can include major realty sites like Zillow or Trulia. For those interested in going further from the mainstream, they can even try sites like Craiglist or Ebay. Buyer beware – some homes arent what theyre represented as on sites like Craigslist. Nonetheless, savvy buyers willing to go the extra mile can unearth some great deals and opportunities that may not be found on MLS databases.

The Real Estate Marketing Insider offered home buyers some tips on finding homes for sale that might not show up on MLS services. REMI recommended a combination of online, paper, and in-person strategies to help locate sellers who may have opted out of a mainstream sale.
