San Diego Home Sales Saw the Strongest August in Six Years

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) October 01, 2012

REMI’s Tobias Nergarden issued some observations about the news of an exceptionally strong August for San Diego home sales today, and his opinion is that this will help home sellers in the greater San Diego area, especially those trying to use real estate advertising strategies to sell San Diego rentals on the beach.

U-T San Diego recently reported that not only did San Diego home prices remain at the highest levels they have been at since 2008, but home sales are much improved, as more units sold in August than they had in any month since 2006. June 2006 saw 4,533 units sold in San Diego County, and August 2012 saw 3,981. There was also a drop in foreclosure sales, which gave experts from DataQuick reason to issue positive statements. A full 28 percent of the homes sold in August were to absentee owners, and are considered vacation homes. Rancho Santa Fe was the area in San Diego County that saw the highest number of homes sold in August.

San Diego County is featuring many popular beaches and high-end homes with beachfront access. The 70 miles of beaches are so popular because San Diego has a dry, Mediterranean climate, although the water in the ocean is cooler because the west coast of North America sees a major current running in a North-South direction, bringing cold water south towards the equator. San Diego County also has the entirety of the natural San Diego Bay, first discovered by Europeans in the colonial era and became a Spanish colony in 1769.

DataQuick is a company created in 1978 to provide information about real estate to those who need it. They also offer solutions to common real estate issue. An example of the services they offer is to discuss and plan for building or buying buildings in a flood area. They are also involved in credit solutions, valuation and appraisals. DataQuick offers their services throughout the United States.

Rancho Santa Fe is one of the most expensive zip codes in the United States. It is also one of the highest cities in the San Diego area in terms of elevation and because of this, occasionally receives snowfall. In the 2010 census, it was revealed that 84.5% of the homes in Rancho Santa Fe were owner occupied with the rest being rentals. Rancho Santa Fe has its origins in an attempt from railroad companies to grow eucalyptus trees in order to see if the wood would serve as a cheap and easy way to make railroad ties, but the wood proved to be unsuitable. For this reason, there are many eucalyptus trees in the area.

Real Estate Marketing Insider commented strong housing sales numbers that were reported from San Diego in August 2012.
